Group Instruction OpportunitiesPhoto of Group Instruction

Pasadena Roving Archers welcomes groups, scouts and parties to the range on an appointment basis. Group classes are scheduled a minimum of 4 weeks in advance and run from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM. on Saturdays by appointment. No participant in group classes can be under the age of 10 except by special arrangement. The maximum number of participants per group is 20. All equipment and instruction is provided.

Saturday morning classes are for individuals and families, not groups. Please do not bring a group of five or more people to our regular Saturday morning instruction program. We have a very limited number of volunteer staff and are unable to accommodate the additional load of groups in the morning.

While we do not provide the complete content for an archery merit badge program, one of our instructors is a Boy Scout certified merit badge counselor who can sign off on the portions we offer. Taking one or more group lessons from PRA will allow your scouts to complete several requirements and prepare to meet several more when they take the merit badge program at a summer camp or workshop. Please contact your local district office to find an Archery Merit Badge Counselor who can help your scouts complete the program.

To schedule a group session, contact PRA at the contact link on this page (info@rovingarchers.com) , with your preferred date and two alternative dates. Once we have verified our schedule for availability, we will need a deposit to reserve your session.

Please do not bring your group to our regular Saturday morning instruction program. We have a very limited number of volunteer staff and are unable to accommodate the additional load of groups in the morning.

Archers who have completed the BAIP program and have purchased their own equipment may participate in the intermediate archery mentoring program. Lead by a certified instructor or coach, archers can refine their technique, tune their equipment and develop competitive techniques for tournament events. Class size is limited and all participants must have their own equipment and have completed the Basic Archery Instruction Program or have prior approval from the instructor.

Children's Archery Program

The general PRA instruction program is intended for participants age 10 and older.  We can accept a limited number of students under 10 years old, subject to instructor approval, into our children's archery program. Class for first time archers under 10 years of age is offered every Saturday morning at Target 1.  First time youth students should be at the range by 8:30 AM for an evaluation and brief lesson.  Even if your child has participated in another youth archery classes, they must attend our introduction and screening class to participate in the PRA Instruction program.
After attending the first-time session, students may be invited to return on Saturday mornings to practice. The children's archery program is one hour long, concluding at 10:00 AM. This is developmentally appropriate for children of this age.
Please contact PRA at info@rovingarcher.com with any questions on the children’s archery program.
