PRA Archery Tournaments and Competitions
Pasadena Roving Archers conducts an active program of archery competition for members and guests. Anyone with their own archery equipment is encouraged to come out and join us for these.
Sunday Qualifier Field Archery Tournament.
This weekly event is a NFAA 28 target field and/or hunter round that
qualifies for competition eligibility and NFAA handicaps. Competition
is held each Sunday and starts at 9:00 AM. Competitors must register at the practice range. There is a small fee.
More information about Field Archery rounds can be found here.
PRA hosts an unmarked 3-D shoot on the 3rd Sunday of the month. Start time is the same as the field round. A small fee is charged.
Outdoor/Indoor 300 tournament. PRA
hosts a FITA style 300 tournament of 10 ends of 3 arrows each shot at
20yards. This timed competition is for archers wishing to compete at
shorter distances. It is ideal for younger archers and those shooting
with lighter poundage recurve bows. It is the perfect introduction to
competition for beginning archers who have completed the BAIP class.
The 300 shoot is held on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month at 9:00AM
at the practice range. There is a small fee.
More information about shooting a 300 round can be found here.
Annual Trophies. PRA members who shoot in 10 field/hunter rounds and/or 5-300 tournaments are eligible to compete for annual awards given at the PRA Awards banquet in January of each year. The competition season runs from October to October. All PRA members are invited to participate.
The Oak Tree 3-D tournament is a
statewide event hosted by PRA in May of each year. This competition
attracts top archers from throughout California. Trophies are awarded
for top performances in all categories. Look for info in the news
section of this site, in the CBH/SAA news and at the range.
The Traditional Tournament is a 3-D archery tournament for archers using traditional bows -- bows that use the more traditional feel of wood, leather, and feathers. The "Trad Tournament" is usually held in the late fall.
21 or Bust tournament is a novelty shoot hosted by PRA in the late fall. Competitors shoot at targets with playing card style faces. The goal is to make “21” or blackjack without going over or busting. Again, there is food cooked by PRA members, clout shoots and a generous raffle. Look for info in the news section of this site, in the CBH/SAA news and at the range.
