Officers support the club in an enhanced capacity and typically report to a board member.

Oak Tree Tournament Director (2023)
Responsible for managing the annual Oak Tree 3D tournament held each year in March. Reports to the Tournament Director.
Estimated time commitment: a few hours per week in the weeks leading up to the tournament with increasing time nearing the date; all day for the day prior and day of the tournament; several hours in the week(s) after the tournament for cleanup and financial reporting.
Skills required: Excellent organization skills, familiarity with the Oak Tree format. You are encouraged to form a support team and to delegate responsibility as necessary. Board members and past tournament directors will be available to advise/assist.

21 or Bust Novelty Shoot Tournament Director (2023)
Responsible for managing the annual 21 or Bust Novelty Shoot tournament held each year in June. Reports to the Tournament Director.
Estimated time commitment: a few hours per week in the weeks leading up to the tournament with increasing time nearing the date; all day for the day prior and day of the tournament; several hours in the week(s) after the tournament for cleanup and financial reporting.

Trad Rendezvous Tournament Director (available immediately)
Responsible for managing the annual Trad Rendezvous 3D tournament. Reports to the Tournament Director.
Estimated time commitment: a few hours per week in the weeks leading up to the tournament with increasing time nearing the date; all day for the day prior and day of the tournament; several hours in the week(s) after the tournament for cleanup and financial reporting.

Range Captain (available immediately)
Responsible for managing physical maintenance of the range, including bale stands, bale replacement, target markers, bow trees, and other capital improvements as needed. This position reports to the President.
Estimated time commitment: variable depending on needs and current projects. At first, this position will train under the current Range Captain.
Skills required: Willingness to get dirty; familiarity with tools and equipment used on the range; ability to prioritize projects and organize work parties and volunteers. You DON’T have to do all of the physical work yourself, although you may need to oversee the majority of it.

Online Registration Coordinator (Position is Filled)
Responsible for checking online registrations for accuracy and dealing with any issues. Reports to the Secretary in lieu of the Education Director.
Estimated time commitment: variable, 1-2 hours per week depending on registration load. This position can be performed at your home on your own schedule.
Skills required: Must be extremely comfortable working with online systems and email; must be detail-oriented and comfortable handling data sets, and a quick learner of technology. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel required.

ONGOING GENERAL DROP-IN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
These are not formal positions but we always need help.

Range Monitors (available immediately)
Responsible for walking the range during Saturday class time to make sure that safety is being maintained. Reports to the Education Director.
Estimated time commitment: Approximately 4 hours on Saturday mornings from 8 am until noon. You do not have to serve every Saturday; we would like to have a group of range monitors to share the load.
Skills required: Enough gumption to don the orange vest; familiarity with range rules.

Saturday Archery Classes Helpers (available immediately)
Responsible for helping with Saturday First Time (7:30 am – 10:00 am) and Returning archers classes (9:30 am – 12:20 pm). This includes setting up, checking in registered students, passing out equipment, and storing equipment. You do not need to be an instructor as the helpers are for support not to teach. Reports to the Education Director.
Estimated time commitment: Up to 5 hours on Saturday mornings from 7:30 am until 12:30 pm. You do not have to serve every Saturday nor do you need to serve for the entire 5 hours.

Saturday Archery Instructors and Coaches (available immediately)
Responsible for teaching Saturday First Time (7:30 am – 10:00 am) and Returning archers classes (9:30 am – 12:20 pm). You must have a USA Archery Level 2 or higher credential to teach without supervision. Instructors with a Level 1 USA Archery credential may “shadow” an experienced instructor/coach while they are working toward their Level 2 credential. Reports to the Education Director.
Estimated time commitment: Up to 5 hours on Saturday mornings from 7:30 am until 12:30 pm. You do not have to serve every Saturday nor do you need to serve for the entire 5 hours. Fianancial Grants for those working toward a Level 2 credential are occasionally available in return for a committment to instruct not fewer than 20 hours (approximately 10 classes) over a one-year period.

Sunday Tournament Set Up and Take Down Helpers (available immediately)
Responsible for helping to set up and take down regular Sunday tournaments. This includes setting out targets and bringing them back in to the main range; pasting targets, etc. Field targets are set every Sunday; 3D targets are set every third Sunday. You do not need to shoot the tournaments. Reports to the Tournament Director.
Estimated time commitment: <1 hour at 7:30 am on Sunday morning for set up; < 1 hour around noon on Sunday for take down.
Skills required: Not much; we can train you if you are not familiar with the tournament formats. For 3D set-up, it helps if you can carry the weight of a 3D target. Anyone with a pick-up truck would be welcomed.

Sunday Tournament Treasurers (available immediately)
Responsible for monitoring sign-in for Sunday tournaments, collecting money from non-members, and filling out the Sunday tournament report. Reports to the Treasurer.
Estimated time commitment: 1-2 hours on Sunday mornings beginning at 7:30 am. You do not have to serve every Sunday; we would like to have a group of Sunday treasurers to share the load.
Skills required: Must be comfortable handling money and filling out a financial report.

Food and Drink Procurer (available immediately)
Responsible for stocking the bin with ice, water, sports drinks, and non-melting snacks. Reports to the Vice President.
Estimated time commitment: 1-2 hours per week for shopping and delivery on Saturday mornings.
Skills required: Must have a car and be able to go shopping. Must be willing to submit timely expense reports and receipts electronically to the treasurer.

Attendance Tracker (available immediately)
Responsible for maintaining the class attendance tracking spreadsheet, used to report to the city. Reports to the Vice President.
Estimated time commitment: ~ 1 hour per week. The majority of this work can be done at home/online.
Skills required: Must be comfortable working with spreadsheets like Excel or Google Sheets. Must be organized and detail-oriented, and willing to track down missing numbers when needed.

Target Preppers (as needed)
We frequently need people to help cut cardboard to size and to paste target faces onto said cardboard. No experience necessary. These opportunities are published in our weekly email. If you are interested in helping on an ongoing basis with this task, email tournaments@rovingarchers.com.
