“Once is never enough,” as the old saying goes. After completing the First-Time Archers class, you can come to the Returning Archers class to see how you improve with more practice and coaching. After a few weeks in the Returning Archers class you should be ready to progress to the Demo Day class which explores Compound Bow Archery, Olympic Recurve Archery and Traditional Archery. The Demo Day offers an overview of the fundamentals of good shooting form in each style.
Who: The Returning Archers class is open to all who have completed the First-Time Archers class.
When: Classes are held every Saturday throughout the year. Exceptions: The range is closed when Christmas and New Year fall on Saturday. Classes also may be cancelled because of inclement weather and also to allow the Club to participate in City-sponsored community events. Whenever possible, advance notice of closures will announced on the preceding Saturday. Last-minute range closures will be posted on the PRA’s Facebook page and website.
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Archers should arrive by 9:30 a.m. to be fitted with equipment. No reservations or signups are required. All classes are on a first-come, first-served basis as space allows.
Cost: $10 per session, non-members; $5, PRA members. Participants are required to show the PRA-issued card showing completion of the First-Time Archers class. PRA members may be asked to show their membership card.
Equipment: All necessary archery equipment is provided. Participants should not purchase any equipment to begin their training. We recommend use of club equipment until you have completed several sessions and have discussed your equipment needs with an instructor.
