Returning Archers

20yd“Once is never enough,” as the old saying goes. After completing the First-Time Archers class, you can come to the Returning Archers class to see how you improve with more practice and coaching. After a few weeks in the Returning Archers class you should be ready to explore Compound Bow Archery, Olympic Recurve Archery and Traditional Archery.

Who: The Returning Archers class is open to all who have completed the First-Time Archers class.

range-mapWhere: All students meet on the practice range (see the map above). Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

When: Classes are held every Saturday throughout the year.  The first Saturday of every month will be 300 rookie tournament. Exceptions: The range is closed when Christmas and New Year fall on Saturday. Classes may also be cancelled because of inclement weather and to allow the Club to participate in City-sponsored community events. Whenever possible, advance notice of closures will announced on the preceding Saturday.  Last-minute range closures will be posted on the PRA’s Facebook page.

Time: 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Archers using club equipment should arrive by 9:30 am. All participants must pre-register online and classes are on a first-come, first-served basis as space allows.

Cost: $10 for nonmembers and free for PRA members. Participants are required to show the PRA-issued card showing completion of the First-Time Archers class and PRA members may be asked to show their membership card.

NOTE: Pre-registration is required. We do not accept walk-ins and no transactions will be done on the range. Registration links will expire in the afternoon the day before class. We are an all-volunteer organization and your spot in the class is contingent on there being a sufficient number of volunteer instructors available that day.

Equipment: All necessary archery equipment is provided. Participants should not purchase any equipment to begin their training. We recommend use of club equipment until you have completed several sessions and have discussed your equipment needs with an instructor.

To practice on the range outside of Saturday mornings with PRA, you must have attended the city required City Credential Class.  To shoot at our Sunday club tournaments, you must have your own equipment & if not a club member, pay a $5 fee per tournament.
